Cultivate an attitude of Qanaah Meeting 8

       Cultivate an attitude of Qanaah

Qanaah means those who are always grateful, do not complain and are willing to accept or always feel enough for the results they are trying to achieve, as well as an attitude that always tries to distance themselves from feeling dissatisfied.  People who have a Qanaah attitude will have the opinion that everything they get is the will of Allah SWT, and they become someone who is easily grateful.  Allah SWT says:

Wa iz ta azzana Rabbukum la'in shakartum la aziidannakum wa la'in kafartum inn'azaabii lashadiid. Meaning: "And (remember) when your Lord declared, "Indeed if you are grateful, I will surely increase (favors) to you, but if you deny (My favor), then surely My punishment will be severe." (Surah Ibrahim:7) Explained that Allah SWT reminds His servants to always be grateful for all the blessings He has bestowed. If this attitude of gratitude is always instilled, then God will add more favors.  On the other hand, Allah also reminds those who deny His favors, and do not want to be grateful, then Allah will inflict a very painful punishment on them.  Being grateful for Allah's grace or always being Qanaah can be done in various ways.  First, with a heartfelt greeting; second, accompanied by action, namely using the grace for a purpose that pleases Him.  In everyday life, we often see that people who are generous and like to spend their wealth for the public interest and help people, generally never fall into poverty or misery.  In fact, his sustenance is always increasing, his wealth is increasing, and his life is happy, loved, and respected in society. On the other hand, rich people who are stingy, or like to use their wealth for things that are not pleasing to Allah, such as gambling or taking usury, then their wealth does not increase, even quickly decreases. In addition, he is always hated and cursed by many people, and in the hereafter will receive a severe punishment.  In a hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah Radliyallaahu, 'Anhu Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wa Sallam once said which means: "Look at those who are below you and do not look at those who are above you, because that is more appropriate so that you do not despise.  favor of Allah which has been bestowed upon you." (Muttafaq 'Alaihi). From this hadith it can be concluded that the way to always be grateful can also be done by always looking at the condition of the people who are under us, not the other way around, this is so that a Qanaah attitude is always embedded in us.
